Launch event of ACT ON STEM in Ysgol Gwaun Gynfi, Deiniolen, 06.04.2017

The North Wales Economic Ambition Board (NWEAB), with partners, has developed new and free classroom resources, issued to every primary school across North Wales. ACT ON STEM is the new bilingual development for Years 5 and 6 (Key Stage 2), a first of its kind in Wales, linking the economic needs of regional employers directly to promote and retain STEM skills among our workforce and the future of the local labour market. In addition, a short film has been produced, to coincide with the materials which adds interest and fun, but containing important messages to children from some employers in North Wales. The classroom materials have been developed with local employers to inspire and engage pupils aged 10-11 on the value and relevance of their skills 'STEM' (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) for jobs and future careers in North Wales.
The launch was of such importance the S4C TV programme ‘HENO’ came to film the launch activity in the school with representation from the Horizon Nuclear, GwE, The Ambition Board and Gwynedd Council.

Visit their website to view the materials, download a copy and watch the film.
