Tier 3 Regional Formative Assessment Action Research project – GwE and Shirley Clarke
INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS
All schools in the region that have not already been part of this exciting project are invited to join Tier 3 for 2019-20 academic year. There is no application to complete – just register through G6 by June 21.
As you know, the project has been going since 2017 and is proving very successful in its impact on teachers ‘practices and on pupils’ confidence, independence and progress. It is also preparing schools effectively for national developments in education.
How many can participate?
Two teachers from each school. In smaller schools it is possible to collaborate with another school and send one from each.
What will be the cost of being part of the project?
For Tier 3, GwE will provide relevant training and resources.
However, schools will need to cover teacher release costs to attend training and review meetings.
This means releasing each project teacher for a minimum of 1.5 days during the 2018-19 financial year and 1.5 days during 2019-20.
You may wish to release teachers further to collaborate, research, visit other schools. This is an individual school decision.

Project teacher quotes:
“The project has transformed our teaching methods. Although we have made small changes to what we were already doing, the impact is staggering. We feel much more confident in ourselves as teachers and are passionate about sharing what we have learned with other teachers. Why? Because we know that what we do and trialled from the project is working ’’
“Being involved in the research, experimenting and learning with the pupils last year and again this year, also the collaboration with other teachers and sharing ideas has been invaluable to me as an individual and as teacher.”
