Cross-Regional Professional Learning Statement

SHARED EXPECTATIONS

Further to the publication of the shared expectations this week, the four regional consortia, who have worked in partnership to co-construct this document, felt that it was important to acknowledge our role now in supporting schools to prepare for the realisation of Curriculum for Wales by outlining the common offer of professional learning that will be available across Wales.

The cross-regional professional learning programme has been designed in partnership by the four regions and is being rolled-out as a common offer of support, although local delivery mechanisms may vary. The programme directly mirrors the approach and philosophy set out in the ‘shared expectations’ document.

Taking our current context of the COVID-19 pandemic into consideration, we have designed the professional learning materials to be made available in a range of formats and to build on our learning from the period of disruption, created by the pandemic.  Opportunities for ‘live’ facilitated sessions will be available, but all sessions will be recorded and made available for schools to engage with as and when they are able. All materials and resources will also be made available as packs that can easily be facilitated by staff in schools.

The high-level detail and release dates of materials to support Headteachers and Senior Leaders, Middle Leader and Teachers are highlighted in the table below.
